Competitive Events will host the 36th MCAS Iwakuni Sprint Triathlon on Sunday, April 13!

Open to SOFA, MLC/IHA, JMSDF and off-base local nationals | Ages 16 and older

Information
Race Expectations
  • Competitors will compete in a 350m swim, 12k bike route, and 4.5k run.
  • You are expected to be able to complete the race in an hours and 40 minutes.
Awards
  • Competitive participants will receive a T-shirt, dry bag, swim cap, and finisher's coin.
  • Awards will be given to the top 3 for each age category as well as overall Male and Female!
Precautions
  • Due to MCAS Iwakuni Base Order, participants will not be able to utilize electronic devices during competition such as music with headphones, Go-Pro, cameras, or any other related electronic items.
  • There will be 90-degree turns during the race, so please ride the bike carefully and adjust your speed as needed.
Weather Notices
  • In the situation where we have rain and makes road conditions unsafe for a bike portion, the event will be a 350m Swim and 4.5k Run.
  • The course and distance could be changed due to any circumstances.
  • In the event of inclement weather, natural disasters, or any other unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, the event will be canceled. Please note that refunds will not be issued.
Parking Information
  • The designated parking area for this event is the Bldg. 100.
  • There will be no parking available at the IronWorks South Side Gym (Bldg. 1010).
  • You must bike to the Main venue IronWorks South Side Gym (Bldg. 1010).
