L.I.N.K.S. Monumental Connections
L.I.N.K.S. Monumental Connections invites Marines, spouses, and military family members to experience the National Capital Region while building connections to the Marine Corps community they call home. This interactive three-hour walking workshop takes L.I.N.K.S. beyond the traditional classroom and onto the National Mall, using some of Washington, D.C.'s most recognizable monuments and memorials as the backdrop for learning, conversation, and connection.
Throughout the walk, participants will explore topics related to Marine Corps culture and traditions, military lifestyle, community resources, relationship building, and navigating life in the National Capital Region. Monument stops provide opportunities for facilitated discussions, reflection, group activities, and informal conversations that allow participants to learn from one another while experiencing the history and culture surrounding their duty station.
Whether new to the Marine Corps, new to the NCR, or simply looking to become more connected, participants are encouraged to embrace the unique opportunities available throughout the region. Monumental Connections is designed to help transform a duty station into a community—building friendships, strengthening support networks, increasing familiarity with Marine Corps culture, and encouraging participants to get out, explore, and make the NCR feel a little more like home.
